Get ready for Ready Week! From June 2nd to June 4th, this three-day conference, hosted by Oakland Unified's Expanded Learning Summer Team, will bring together over 200 attendees and more than 30 local community organizations and internal leaders. The goal? To equip summer agencies, leaders, and staff with the tools and knowledge to deliver truly impactful and joyful summer programming. Throughout the event, participants will dive into interactive workshops on vital subjects such as emergency preparedness, special education, social-emotional learning, and designing engaging academic experiences. Ready Week is more than just a conference; it's a vibrant hub for learning, networking, food, fun, and games, all contributing to a successful and enriching summer for all.
In this session please be prepared to move around! We're going to show you some fun and easy activities/games for all ages that you can keep in your “back pocket” for the times you need them most. These activities will require little to no prep and supplies and can be dialed up or down depending on your age group. Bring your energy and we’ll bring the fun!
In this foundational session, participants will embark on a journey to explore the principles and practices of restorative justice. Grounded in a three-fold approach—prevention, intervention, and restoration-this session lays the groundwork for creating equitable and compassionate environment.
The Role of Staff in Behavior Guidance reflects on your actions and reactions to the behaviors of children and youth to effectively guide their behavior and foster social-emotional skills in both yourself and your students.
